SMC traces its roots back to 1975 providing Tactical Training for numerous Canadian Police Departments.

SMC has provided Security Consulting and Management Services for a variety of Canadian Corporations. The company has considerable hands-on experience relative to Domestic and International Terrorism, Kidnapping, Theft, Fraud, and Vandalism.

SMC has conducted Security Audits, Investigations and Security Details in Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, Sudan, Tanzania, Gabon, Congo, and Angola.



  

Brian Willis

Brian Willis began his law enforcement career in 1979 and over the next 25 years he worked as a patrol officer, tactical officer, patrol supervisor and trainer. From 1994 to 2004 he was the head use of force trainer with the Calgary Police Service.


Dave Rourke

Dave joined the Calgary Police Service in 1969. He was a member of the Patrol Division and the Canine Unit until 1975 when he resigned to start a private business.


Darrell Goss

Darrell joined the Calgary Police Service in 1977. He worked 19 years in various districts as a patrol officer. He worked for one year in the communications division handling telephone complaints and as a dispatcher. Darrell spent five years as a Crimes Scene (CSI) Investigator in the Crime Scene Unit.


Gerry Befus

Gerry joined the Calgary Police Service in 1962. He was promoted to the Rank of Sergeant in 1977, Staff Sergeant in 1979, Inspector in 1982, and Superintendent in 1989. He retired in 1991 following 28 years of service.


Colin Acheson

Colin joined the Calgary Police Service in 1975. In 1980 he was assigned to the Strike Force Unit. Colin was promoted to the rank of Detective in 1982. He was assigned to the Drug Unit, the Criminal Intelligence Unit, the Homicide Unit, and the Sex Crimes Unit.


Howard Cox

Howard joined the RCMP in 1959 and served at a number of postings, involving various Police duties within Alberta until 1972. His various roles within the RCMP included: Training Supervisor for K Division, Staff Relations Representative for Alberta, Operations Commander for the Sherwood Park, Alberta Detachment, and Inspector in Charge of the Cranbrook, B.C. Detachment.


Dave Rodwell

Dave developed his investigation acumen and expertise over a span of 28 years of service with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Over the years, Dave handled a multitude of criminal investigations from shoplifting to murder. Dave has worked on some of Alberta’s and the Northwest Territory’s most extensive investigations. Upon retirement from the RCMP, Dave entered the field of private investigation and security consultation work.


Kim Rourke

Kimberley Rourke has a BA from the University of Calgary, a degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. Kim volunteered with the Calgary Police Service (CPS) for two years helping to gather and organize information for the analysts and business liaison volunteers. She joined SMC full time in the summer of 2006.


Nick Clarke

Nick Clarke joined the Calgary Police Service in 1962 where he worked his way up to Sergeant in the patrol and traffic areas. During his 29 years with the CPS Nick worked as both a zone and district Sergeant, spent a year as a detective assigned to the robbery unit, and spent three years as the Police Service Firearms Training Officer.


Clark McLean

Clarke McLean was a member of the Canadian Pacific Railway Police Service from 1978 until 1999. By 1997 he was the Staff Sergeant responsible for the administration and management of intelligence unit personnel and information in both Canada and the United States as it related to Canadian Pacific holdings. In 1998 he was promoted to the rank of Inspector. Currently Clark is employed by the Calgary Police Service (CPS) In the Security Investigation Unit/ Calgary Criminal Intelligence Unit.


Barry Rupert

Barry joined the Calgary Police Service in 1976. He completed 26 years of service in various districts and specialty units including the District Analysis and Response Team (surveillance unit), 3 District GIU, 4 District GIU/Housebreaking Unit and the communications section.


Bill Stevens

Bill Stevens was a member of the Calgary Police Service from 1978 through 2003. In 1999 he became the Community Liaison Officer for District 7 providing crime prevention techniques and solutions to the community and local businesses.
